Empowering Refugees: Our Story at African Women Refugee Immigrant Care.

African Women Refugee Immigrant Care (AWRIC) is a nonprofit organization founded in 2018 by a refugee family who arrived in the USA. Witnessing the struggles faced by refugees, especially women and children, in their new country, they were inspired to make a difference in the lives of others facing similar challenges.

Our Founding Story

After fleeing war-torn countries and seeking refuge in the USA, the founders of AWRIC encountered numerous obstacles as they tried to rebuild their lives. They experienced firsthand the difficulties of adapting to a new culture, finding employment, and accessing essential services.

Despite these challenges, the family was determined to not only survive but thrive in their new home. They realized that many other refugees, particularly women and children, were facing similar struggles and decided to take action. Drawing on their own experiences and with the support of their community, they founded AWRIC with the goal of providing support and resources to refugees in need.
